July 1st is Hershey Incorporated Day
you're looking for something to do today then I hope you like chocolate
because it's Hershey Incorporated Day! Your mouth's watering
already, isn't it? Let's get right into celebrating Hershey
WHY IS THIS A
Well, this is the day that Hershey decided to add another candy
to their product line. And in 1907 the first Hershey's Kisses were
made! No one's really sure where the name came from but some people
think the machine that makes them makes a kissing sound when it
deposits the chocolate. But these candies weren't all that original,
because Wilbur Buds were around since 1893. Wilbur Buds look like a
chocolate chip with a fancy bottom, but are most likely what inspired
the Hershey's Kisses. But people love these things! And it's kind
of sad to think of how much work went into pumping these chocolate
treats out at first. Why? Well, they were wrapped by hand for the first
14 years! But once they started the automatic wrapping process they
also added in their signature "plume" so people knew they were getting
the real deal. You wouldn't want to end up with a knock off like Wilbur
Buds, now would you? ;) But hey, that thin paper strip was trademarked
in 1924, so don't try to copy it!
And even though I'm not a huge
fan of chocolate, I've eaten quite a few of these in my lifetime. and
I'm sure you have too! You can go with milk chocolate or pop some
almonds, caramel, coconut creme, cookie bits or peanut butter in there.
They even have ones with dark and white chocolate. And you can get
giant ones too! You're not going to be limited one bit when it comes to
Hershey's Kisses. Care for a kiss?
So, how can you celebrate today? Well, it's as simple as
grabbing a bag of Hershey's Kisses from your local grocery store, isn't
it? Well sure it is, if you want a simple celebration and want to
quickly get that chocolaty goodness into your mouth! Just be sure to
share with others so you can all be on an equally distributed sugar
But if you like to explore a little with these
celebrations then look all over and try to find some new variety of
Hershey's Kisses that you've never had before. I'm sure your tongue
will enjoy the new flavors! And yeah, it's not Hershey's Kisses Day, so
I guess you could pretty much chomp on anything made by Hershey today.
I just thought the Kisses seemed more in line with what the holiday is
all about. But do any of you have a huge appetite for chocolate?
Do you think you could eat a giant Hershey's Kiss faster than your
friend could? Well, why don't you hold a little competition and prove
it today! Winner gets a big bag of Hershey's Kisses of their choice
bought for them by the loser... yeah, I'm sure you'll be a bit sick of
chocolate after this competition ;). Have a great day and go get
