April 23rd is National Cherry Cheesecake Day
you're looking for something to do today then get your taste buds ready
for a celebration because it's National Cherry Cheesecake Day!
yes, the classic combination of yum! Let's get right into
celebrating National Cherry Cheesecake Day!
WHY IS THIS A
I, for one, don't have to ask why this is a holiday
love cherry cheesecake and every time I slide the rich flavor of
cheesecake and cherries across my tongue I feel like I have to be
celebrating something. So why not have a day set aside just for
celebrating this amazing creation, right? But if you've never had it
before, you might still question the reason for this holiday so let me
show you why it's so good. To make a cheesecake you usually
out by crushing graham crackers into the base of a springform pan. The
spring form just holds all the liquid contents in place so that it
forms a nice circular cake as it bakes.
Then you can just pop
the form off it when it's ready to eat. But let's not get ahead of
ourselves... When you're done with the crust on the bottom you whip up
delicious contents like cream cheese, butter, sugar, eggs, heavy
whipping cream, sour cream or milk and then pour it into the form.
Then you bake it for a while and then pop it in your fridge
overnight to cool and to create the perfect texture. Then you pop the
springform off it, give it a nice coating with cherry pie filling, or
your own homemade mixture, and then slice into dessert heaven! Trust
me, if today is the first time you try cheesecake, you're probably not
going to be able to eat just one slice. I know I had two!
So how can you celebrate today? Well, the easiest way is
going to be to head out to a restaurant and order a slice for dessert.
It's the perfect way to end any meal and it's a relaxing celebration!
May I suggest that you head to The Cheesecake Factory if you want some
really good cheesecake? If you do head to The Cheesecake Factory then
there's nothing wrong with sampling other flavors too, just make sure
you give cherry a chance. It is its day after all! You could
pick up some ready-made cakes or individual slices at your local
grocery store if you want. Or you could scan the shelves for some
no-bake cheesecake mixes. This doesn't take quite as long to make as
real cheesecake and it tastes just as good. Philadelphia Cream Cheese
even makes a cheesecake filling in a tub that you just spread on a
graham cracker crust and pop it in the fridge and it's ready to eat in
a couple hours. Just don't forget the cherry pie topping! Or,
you planned ahead, you could make your own cheesecake from scratch.
It's not that making a cheesecake takes that long it's just that you
have to let it sit in the fridge for a good amount of time before you
slice into it. But, by making it yourself, you can sculpt the flavors
so that it tastes exactly how you want it to. I've made a cheesecake
before with white chocolate in it. Mhmm, that pleases the tongue!
Regardless of how you decide to celebrate, I hope it's a
delicious day for you!
