September 12th is National Chocolate Milkshake Day
you're looking for something to do today then get ready for some sweet
satisfaction because it's National Chocolate Milkshake Day! A
pleasing beverage, in more ways than one! Let's get right into
celebrating National Chocolate Milkshake Day!
WHY IS THIS A
Well, I'd have to say that the biggest reason for people to want
to celebrate such a thing like this is because they love drinking them!
And chocolate is probably one of the most common flavors chosen, when
it comes to milkshakes. But things are still toasty in some areas, so a
milkshake would be nice around this time of year. So since this type of
beverage and flavor is so popular and people might need to cool off a
little, today is the perfect day for such a celebration! But how
did this wonderful drink get its start? Well, if you were to get a
milkshake in 1885, you'd end up with a whiskey and egg drink. That
sounds like a disaster waiting to happen! But if you skip ahead a few
years, people would refer to a milkshake if they had a drink with
chocolate, vanilla or strawberry syrup in it. And then in the early
1900s people started adding ice cream to their milkshakes.
there's a reason for this odd evolution of the milkshake. You see,
electric blenders weren't really around at first so a milkshake pretty
much had to be like an eggnog or just some shaken iced milk. I guess
people didn't want to get a good arm workout just to make a milkshake.
But by 1911, electronic drink mixers started popping up and milkshakes
started to take the thick form that we're use to. And boy are
So, how can you celebrate today? Well, I'm sure most of you
already know that most fast food joints have chocolate milkshakes just
waiting for you to inhale them. So head on over to your favorite
restaurant and get one in you! And yeah, I guess you could get a meal
with it too. ;) And if you're up for an adventure, and think you
can handle it, then why don't you test out a small, chocolate milkshake
from all the restaurants you can think of? At first you can use it as
research to find out who makes the best chocolate milkshake, but I'm
sure by the end of the day you'll be so sick of them that it won't be
accurate research at all! So hmm, you might want to limit it to like
three places so that your celebration doesn't go south.
you're handy in the kitchen you can always make your own. Get your
favorite chocolaty ice cream, maybe some chocolate milk and whatever
else you want to sprinkle in there. Then blend it to the desired
consistency and enjoy. Want to make your milkshake even one more step
toward the edge of radicalism? Go ahead and make your own ice cream!
Have a great day and enjoy your thick sippage!
